Official notice of TFFPN Annual General Meeting – 18 October 2024

In accordance with section 13.4 of the TFFPN Constitution, the Board wishes to notify members that the Annual General Meeting for the TFFPN will be held on Friday 18th October at the Country Club Tasmania (Country Club Avenue, Prospect Vale), commencing at 6:00pm – immediately prior to the 2024 TFFPN Industry Dinner.

TFFPN Board Election

In accordance with section 13.4 of the Constitution, we have called for nominations to serve as a Director on the TFFPN Board. Two Director vacancies are available for elected Directors on the Board.

With reference to section 13.3(ii) the term of elected Director Francis Richardson will expire at this AGM. With reference to section 13.3(c) of the Constitution, the office held by the TFFPN Boards two nominated Directors, Andrew Morgan and Amanda Sharman will conclude. As per section 13.3(d) of the Constitution, Andrew Morgan will not seek re-appointment. Amanda Sharman will be re-appointed by the Board as a nominated Director for another term.

Voting opens at 8:00am 1 October 2024 and closes at 6:00pm on 18 October 2024.
All Members of the TFFPN are eligible to vote once.

MEET OUR CANDIDATES…

Joel Allison

As Finance Manager at Forico and a proud Tasmanian, I am eager to contribute further to the forestry sector by nominating for Director on the TFFPN Board.

With a background in finance and management, I hold a Bachelor of Business and Chartered Accountant qualification. My experience spans forestry, aged care, and food products, offering diverse insights for the TFFPN.

I have also held leadership roles in other membership associations where I contributed to their growth in members and event attendance. I’m passionate about forestry’s role in Tasmania’s economy and look forward to supporting its sustainable future.

Jarrod Burn

I am a proud 5th generation timber industry worker with a passion for forestry that commenced at a young age whilst working alongside my family in the bush.

I have over 20 years of broad forest management experience in Tasmania across both public and private estates. This includes forest planning, forest production, land management, and fire management.

I am passionate about ensuring our forests continue to provide ecological, economic, and social benefits for generations to come through embracing sustainable active forest management practices.

Steve Butt

I would like to highlight the following skills and achievements I would bring to the organisation and the Board

  • extensive experience relative to the industry, in particular finance, legal, strategic, commercial and governance expertise
  • strong commercial acumen
  • a strong personal desire to identify and deliver opportunities to create value for all stakeholders from growing trees
  • 35 years of experience in the forest industry, 25 of which have been senior management and finance roles with both regional, statewide and national responsibilities,

I am motivated by opportunities to create long term value and to strive for continuous improvement in process and asset performance.

Steven Richardson

Steven Richardson has been a member of the TFFPN for more than 3 years. Since that time he has been a strong supporter of the network, participating in events throughout the State and developing strong connections across the forest industry. Steve will bring a unique perspective and skill-set to the board with:

A professional approach to organisational risk and governance;
A demonstrated willingness to listen and learn from members;
An industry network that has given him cross-sector knowledge; and,
A proven record of engagement with members across the network, statewide.

Steve is known and recognised in the TFFPN around the state and will be an approachable member of the board.

Andrew Wye

  • Enthusiastic about people and all forests.
  • Forestry and our communities are changing to meet new challenges and opportunities and I bring an open mind and experience.
  • Has worked throughout Tasmania and other parts of the world which will hopefully help in achieving outcomes.
